Ice Festival Demo

On Saturday we went to an ice festival in Scranton, PA. Drake and I had fun at the festival while my husband helped with the SCA Demo there. You can see a picture of my husband giving a little girl a flower in their local newspaper. How cute!

The ice sculptures were sponsored by shops along the street. We arrived as the man was starting to carve the dragon. It was neat to watch him carve it with a small chainsaw and bits of ice floating on the breeze like snowflakes. It took him at least 3 hours to complete the sculpture, maybe longer. The store that spnsored the dragon was pretty cool. I loved their live music (harp and violin) and their butterfly wing jewelry - very unique.

I asked Drake to stand next to the gargoyle and make a funny face. I think he was biting puppy's tail for his funny face.

Over the weekend a while back Drake and I played games. He has an amazing imagination and lately he has been into pretending things are depicting a scene or large structure. For example, we were decorating Valentine's Day cards with markers and he made this structure and said it was a playground. This is so abstract. These markers in this pattern is representing a whole playground the size of our house. I look back and wonder when he made these abstract leaps and it has happened so gradually that I didn't notice till now.
